We had a great summer and are committed to making sure the summer of 2025 is even better!  Thank
you to everyone who took the time to fill out the survey and give your thoughts.  For the 2025 season, your child’s
age as of May 1st, 2025 will determine what group they register with.  Any requests to play up
must be made to the GSBA board (Goodviewsandlotbball@gmail.com) and will be handled on a
case by case basis with feedback from previous coaches.

NEW THIS SEASON: There will not be an additional “dibs” fee as part of your registration.
The registration amounts listed are the full registration amounts. Events that would have
typically fulfilled “dibs” hours will continue to be offered and will be reimbursed at a rate of
$20/hour. There is no limit to the amount of hours that can be fulfilled by families.

We will continue to field the 6U and 8U teams the same as we have in the previous years:

 

6U	8U
No league games	Plays in Winona County League and 1-2 local tournaments.  This league went to 1 game per week last year.
$60 Registration Fee	$130 Registration Fee

 

Starting at the 9U level, GSBA will offer travel teams at each age that will play in the Seven Rivers Athletic
Association for league play.  The 10U and above age groups will participate in MBT/MYAS
state qualifying tournaments while the 9U age group will continue to play local tournaments. 
These teams will be capped at 10-12 players with evaluations being held (if necessary) prior to
the season to help determine team sizes.

We hope to continue to offer Winona County League teams at the 10, 12, and 14U levels.  When
registering, you will have the option to sign up for the travel team evaluations or be placed
directly on the local team.  If travel team sign ups exceed the maximum roster sizes, the
additional players will be placed on the local team once evaluations are complete.  Please keep in
mind that these teams are contingent on having enough players to fill them.  See the chart below
for a breakdown of the different options:

Registration will close on 1/31/2025 for ages 9U and above.  Registrants can pay in full or
register with a $25 down payment (remainder charged on 4/30/2025).  Please note that with
either option, the payment system will only allow the higher amount for each age group. 
Adjustments/credits will be made once teams are formed before the final payment is charged. 
Early registration is highly encouraged as it will help us determine team sizes, allow us to
register for tournaments and plan uniforms more efficiently. Please support our organization by
sharing the news of our growing options with your friends and families! If you have any

Goodview Sandlot Evaluation Criteria and Info

Evaluations will be held on February 22-23 and March 1-2.  There may be a weekday session in between but at this point that is still TBD.  There will be specific times for each age group on each day.  We would like as many to attend the sessions on the weekend of March 1-2 as possible. 

The following stations will be a part of the evaluations, with players being scored in
these skill areas:
-Infield (Footwork, Fielding, Throw power/accuracy)
-Outfield (Footwork, Catching, Throw power/accuracy)
-Hitting Soft Toss (Mechanics, Contact, Power)
-Hitting Machine (Mechanics, Contact, Power)
-Pitching (Mechanics, Accuracy, Velocity)

Team sizes will be 10-12 players. The top 9 individuals in each age group based on the scoring from
Winona State will be guaranteed spots on the team. The final 1-3 roster spots will be determined by the
GSBA board based on evaluation scoring, registration numbers, team need, and coach
recommendations.

Individuals must evaluate with their age group OR peer up based on their grade in school this year (see
below). Individuals who do not meet grade level criteria that want to play up an age group must
evaluate into the top 3 of that age group in order to be guaranteed a spot on the team.

9U- 3rd Grade
